Internationally renowned DJ & Producer, Luciano arrived in South Africa with Bridges For Music for a series of workshops and events in the townships of Soweto (Panyaza, Tuesday 26th of March) and Langa (Guga S´thebe, Wednesday 27th of March).
Directly off the back of appearances at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, he arrives in South Africa for two exclusive shows in conjunction with the Bridges For Music initiative. Through insisting on only doing these shows in the townships and committing his time for free, he is reafirmed the concept of bridging the gaps between scenes.  Before the shows, he was  joined by heavyweight Vinny da Vincy  for free workshops where they will discuss music, technology and life. The shows took place straight after the workshops at the same venue, with special performances alongside Luciano by Black Coffee, Kid Fonque, Oskido, Thibo Thazz, Floyd Lavine, Diggin4dodge, Diloxclusiv, Dj Fosta and Sir Vincent. These workshops aimed to become a cultural exchange between a top artist from overseas, and the key players of the South African music scene.
Red Bull Studios and Olmeca Tequila as key players of the South African music scene, were proud to be partners of this tour whilst sharing the ethos of using music as a tool to bridge gaps and empowerment.
Luciano is without a doubt one of the most respected artists of the last decade, building his name through outstanding performances around the world. As founder of iconic label Cadenza and now the legendary Vagabundos events in Ibiza, he represents an amazing combination of the single-minded artist completely devoted to music, and a performer whose charisma is an intrinsic part of his global appeal.
Local legend from Mitchell’s Plain, Ready D, will be joining the line-up in Cape Town for a talk and a demo before Luciano and Vinny take the stage. Apart from enjoying superstar status with a cult following all over South Africa and producing music for various groups and TV shows, Ready D has won the SA DMC Championship four times and has also won the DJ Of The Decade Award. Various publications have rated him amongst the top thirty hip hop DJ's in the world.
Other acts to be included as part of the Cape Town line-up are Sir Vincent, Diloxclusiv and DJ Fosta, representing Khayelithsa, Gugulethu and Langa, offering the possibility to young local artists to showcase their talent.
After the great success of its previous workshops with Richie Hawtin and Skrillex, Bridges For Music continues with its series of social events - making music and world class artists a tool to bring people from different communities together and inspire the new generation of South African artists. Despite his busy agenda, Luciano didn't want to loose this opportunity of contributing to the South African music scene, sharing his knowledge and supporting the township scene where he knows music has become a driving force for development.
